Démarche - Statement

Majda MR s’inspire de savoir-faire ancestraux – broderie, teinture, tissage – qu’elle réinvente avec une approche contemporaine. Ses créations mêlent matière organiques, le coton, le lin, la soie à des éléments inattendus – maquillage, matières plastiques, fils conducteurs – donnant ainsi naissance à des images et à des installations organiques qui semblent nous inviter à méditer hors du temps.

Son univers gravite autour de la trace de ce qui a été un instant présent et matérialisé par l’empreinte, pérenne ou éphémère, associée au motif brodé, fixé durablement au support. Son travail se décline en petit et grands formats selon les projets et les possibilités de mise en œuvre. En effet, Majda MR défend l’idée d’un atelier portatif et nomade, seule possibilité de continuer à œuvrer lorsque les circonstances contraignent au mouvement.

Her creations combine organic materials, cotton, linen and silk with unexpected elements – makeup, plastics, wires – thus giving birth to images and organic installations that seem to invite us to meditate out of time.

Her universe revolves around the trace of what was a present moment and materialized by the imprint, perennial or ephemeral, associated with the embroidered pattern, permanently attached to the support. His work is divided into small and large formats according to projects and implementation possibilities. Indeed, majda mr defends the idea of a portable and nomadic workshop, the only possibility to continue working when circumstances constrain the movement.
